We went to the pub today to watch the final week of Six Nations rugby. I must be good luck, because the dragons of Wales ended up winning the whole tournament! Later, we went to an early St. Patrick's Day party in the clubhouse. I was looking very dapper.

I went and got my picture taken with the Easter Bunny today at the Crystal Court. He was like a big, furry, soft stuffed animal, and was very gentle with me. I'm sure next year when I realize what's actully going on I'll freak out.

I'm lucky seven months old today. Good thing to, because St. Patrick's Day is next month and it's my mommy's favorite holiday!

Today is the last day of my Year of the Dragon. Tomorrow begins the Year of the Snake. To celebrate the end of the year, I took my puppy, Balin, down to the Huntington Dog Beach for corgi day. There were over 100 corgis slated to show up. It was also my first trip down to the shoreline. The rolling waves sounded just like the Sleep Sheep in my crib, so much so that I fell asleep in my carrier.

Mommy and daddy put in the car at 5:30am this morning so we could get down to The Harp Inn to watch my first Six Nations rugby matches. Wales was playing against Ireland, and Scotland was playing at England. I wore my Scotland Rugby onesie, but it didn't help. Both Wales and Scotland were defeated. Maybe I'll have better luck next week when I wear my Wales Rugby onesie!

I had my six-month check-up with the pediatrician. I measured in at 20 lbs 14 oz, and 28 3/4" long. I slipped down slightly to the ninety-seventh percentile for weight and length. She gave me permission to add protein and dairy to my diet too. More food for this "Snap Dragon" to chomp down on with my newest third tooth!

It's my half-birthday! I am six months old today. I can't believe it's been half a year since I was born. Things have changed so much since then. I'm sitting up, eating solids, sleeping in my crib, and giggling a lot. To celebrate this milestone of life, I went on a playdate with my friend Brandon. We had fun strolling around the mall with our mommies. Let's see how fast the next six months go by!

I was going to go for a bike ride today in my big red bike trailer, but dad had some difficulty getting it set-up, so we went for a walk in it instead. Mommy, daddy, and I all walked down to The Castaways and looked out over Newport Harbor and the ocean. It was a beautiful, sunny, Winter day, and a there was a lot of new things to see along our path.

Today the family took a walk down to the park, and I got to go on the swing for the first time ever. It was really fun. I swung with dad, and mom, and all by myself on the baby swing. Grandma came down to watch. But it was way too cold so we did stay as long as I'd have liked. I'm sure we'll go again soon though.

For my first New Year's Eve I hung out with Grandma K. so mommy and daddy could go out to a movie. They got back and took me home before the ball dropped, but I was unable to make it to midnight. On New Year's Day I watched the 124th Tournament of Roses Parade on TV, then went to grandpa and grandma's and had tamales for good luck! 2013 will be my first full year and I look forward to all the milestones, love, and changes that are coming my way.

I spent my first Christmas morning at Grandma and Grandpa Kurpakus' house. I again looked festive in my candy cane footie. I bounced in my new bouncer, and sat on dad's lap while he opened presents to me from the whole family. For lunch I headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Nimmo's house. There I sat with mom to go through my stocking, and sat with dad's again to open presents. It was another long day, so I went home a slept safe in the knowledge that I didn't shoot my eye out! Overall, my first Christmas was fun, and filled with family and love. I think I'll try it again next year!

We spent Christmas Eve at Grandpa and Grandma Leath's house. I got to Skype with uncle Andrew in Japan, and get kissed by aunt Hilary in the living room. I looked super cute in my red and white elf-prison stripes footie with a Santa on the bum. It was a long night and I went to sleep with visions of sugar-plums dancing in my head.

Happy Winter Solstice! and happy birthday to me! I turn five months old today. As the Mayans predicted, it was the end of an era... an era of me being a wee baby. Now that I'm older, I giggle more, I kick more, and I roll over more. I've also had my first two bottom teeth break through. Now I'm a Snap Dragon! Chomp! Chomp!

Mommy does work for the Epilepsy Support Network of Orange County, and tonight was their annual holiday party. I dressed up all festively and tagged along. I was a hit with ladies as always, and got a wooden rattle and wooden truck as gifts. Mommy even won a Kermit the Frog pen to add to her shrine!

Today we went down to Crystal Cove State Beach to take family Christmas pictures in front of the tree they have set-up and decorated right there on the beach. It's like Christmas but with surf, sun, and sand! My dad wore one of his Christmas Hawaiian shirts, mom wore her flowery dress, and I wore my Hawaiian shirt. We all looked very beachy. Mele Kalikimaka!

I went and got my picture taken with Santa Claus today at the MainPlace Mall. He told me as I came up that he had been waiting for me all day. Then later when I got home, my friend Caitlyn came over for an early holiday. She is already sitting up on her own, and gives great hugs!

Today I had my first solid food. Mommy made up a bowl of rice cereal for me. It was tasty, but I had a hard time keeping it in my mouth sometimes (it's slippery stuff). I'm sure I'll get the hang of this spoon-eating thing, then I can move on to green beans, peas, and other vegatables and fruits.

I had my four-month check-up with the pediatrician. I measured in at 19 lbs 7 oz, and 27 1/2" long. I have moved up into the ninety-eighth percentile for weight and length (I'm only ninety-seventh percentile for cranium circumference). She says it's time for me to start eating solid food too. I know they say babies "grow up so fast", but I seem to be growing even faster than that!

I am four months old today! and although it seems as if they went by quickly, it has been a long four months. I have grown pretty big in that time too, as I am already wearing 6-months old clothing. I am smiling, giggling, and rolling over a lot more not too. One-third of a year down, and many more changes to go!

Today I went all the out to Willow Springs Raceway near Lancaster to watch my first live auto race. I wore my ear muffs because grandpa's racecar is loud. I sat in the driver's seat with him and told him what parts needed to be fixed. I definitely earned my team shirt!

I went trick-or-treating tonight to celebrate my first Halloween. I dressed up as a prize-winning sweet pea, and mommy and daddy went as farmers fresh from the county fair. I hope all the candy I got lasts until I have teeth and can eat it.

I turned three months old today! To celebrate I went to the mall have had my first studio pictures taken. I could be a professional model when I learn how to smile on cue, because I looked super cute in the turtle outfit my friend Caitlyn's parents got for me.

Tonight I rolled over for the first time. I was able to do it three consecutive times. Look out world, I'm getting stronger!

Last night I slept in the nursery in my crib all by myself for the first time! It was tough on mommy not having me right next to her in the bassinet, but we both made it through the night successfully. Finally, I have my own room!

I went to the doctor again today for my two-month check-up. I measured in at 15 lbs 8 oz, and 25 1/2" long. I fall into the ninety-fifth percentile of my age for weight, length, and cranium circumference. That means that I am a big boy with a big brain!

I celebrated my two month old birthday today! My friend Caitlyn came to visit, and we got lunch together, and walked around the mall, did some shopping, and then had ice cream. It looked yummy. I can't wait until I can actually have some.

Today I went and visited mommy's obstetrician (that's a big word). It's the doctor that took care of me when I was in mommy's belly. She thought I was just adorable, and so did all the nurses.

Last night I spent my first whole night away from mommy and daddy. I wasn't scared though because I stayed at grandma and grandpa's house. I sleep really well over there. When I woke up this morning mom and dad were there to have waffles for breakfast.

I am one month old today! I can't even tell time yet, but it sure does fly by nonetheless. So much eating, so much sleeping, so much pooping, so much crying. I don't know which one I enjoy more!

I went on my first freeway roadtrip today, and visited with my friend Caitlyn again. She lives a whole hour away (man, was that a long ride). I enjoyed hanging out and sleeping in her bouncer. It was comfy.

Today I saw my actual pediatrician for the first time. She is really friendly and thought I was cute. She weighed me (10 lbs 6 oz), measured me (22 3/4"), and gave me my three-week check-up.

My friend Caitlyn came to visit me today. She is two weeks and one day older than me. We had fun crying at different times so we could wake each other up. It was definitely the start of a beautiful friendship.

I am one week old today! It's already been such an adventure: I got come home to my first house, sleep in a light blanket, meet my puppy Balin, visit the doctor, and everyone around the neighborhood has made an effort to see me. It's been fun, but I'm sure it's nothing compared to what the rest of my life has instore.

I had my first doctor's appointment today. I passed my exam with flying colors! The doctor even predicted that I'm going to be a tall guy someday.

I am out of the hospital, and safely at home in my warm bassinet. My more than twenty-some pet dragons were very excited to finally meet me.

We welcome our son, Declan Matthew (8 lbs 14 oz, 21 1/2"), to the world. The wee dragon was received with love by his mom and dad, all his grandmas and grandpas, great grandmas, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his puppy Balin. He also wishes his uncle Matthew a happy birthday today!
